Who says weddings have to cost millions?

This is my "bookmark blog," where I'll be sharing different wedding items I've searched online that could help my soon-to-be wedding become more special, more affordable and more meaningful. Hope these can help you too!

The Dress.

I don't care about designer gowns and long trails, but I do want my dress to be sexy, unique and a bit non-traditional. So when I saw an alternative wedding gown at my favorite website - etsy.com - I just knew this was the kind of dress I'd be thrilled to wear on the big day.

Designer's Inspiration
According to the designer (Marie Chalifoux of Onekindcouture), "When I was designing this gown, I was inspired by the beautiful undergarments women used to wear in the Victorian era. This a two piece corset and petticoat alternative wedding gown."

The materials?
According to the listing, "both the skirt and petticoat are made out of Hemp Muslin with a Tulle overlay. For the ruffle on the skirt, I used two different types of Eyelet fabrics, and third Eyelet type of fabric for the ruffle on the corset. For the front panel there are roses cascading down the front of the skirt that were I both embroidered and appliqued."

Cost?
It's worth $630 and the best thing about it is, it can be custom-made to fit anyone perfectly! Don't you just love the talented designers down at etsy.com? :)

I'd buy this once I've saved up enough money for my gown :) Fortunately I've got more than a year to save up for my December 2010 or January wedding 2011! Weeee.
